Approved Supplier: Geobrugg
Vertical Access Ltd are proud & approved supplier of Geobrugg Safety Meshes & Nets
Deltax Rock Meshing
Geobrugg developed the light weight Deltax rockfall mesh as a chain linked design with 2.0mm or 3.0mm galvanised high tensile wire with Geobrugg Ultracoating which can closely conform to the face profile.
The netting can be installed without the use of heavy machinery however Vertical Access frequently uses telehandlers or excavators fitted with lifting spreader arms to allow more efficient operation and lower manual handling.
For high corrosion areas such as coastal or marine sites the product is supplied in Stainless Steel, both products provide long lasting working life with minimal maintenance.
Geobrugg test their rockfall drapes for performance and behaviour and can be fully analysed with all its components.
The company has installed this mesh on a number of contracts including Lockley Wood [ 6,400 m2 ] & Rotherview [ 1,600m2 ].
Greenax Mesh
This Geobrugg product incorporates a three-dimensional polypropylene erosion control mat into the high-tensile steel mesh, this integrated and reinforced composite makes the product ideal for temporary and permanent erosion control and re-vegetation programmes. The polypropylene erosion control mat is UV stabilised, The company has installed this mesh on a number of contracts including Blackwell Cutting [ 5,400m2 ]
Tecco High Tensile Meshing
TECCO® mesh is manufactured in 2 mm, 3 mm or 4 mm wire made from high-tensile steel, can be used to stabilise almost any type of slope, whether it consists of rock, loose soil or a mixture. Coupled with three different sized spike plates, the TECCO® system. With the wires having a tensile strength of more than 1770 N/mm² limiting elongation, therefore when installed with the Tecco Spike Plates the rhomboid mesh wire structure provides the best possible stability for the geological conditions present on site and can be tightly secured even on irregular terrain.
Knotted ends ensure that maximum stability is retained right up to the border edges, removing the need for overlap and allowing the mesh and netting to be unrolled easily and independently fixed with the Spike Plate system. Mesh panels are joined by the Tecco connection T3 clips. Wastage is further reduced as the mesh can be extended in length without the need to overlap.
Geobrugg provide a harmonized system with each element being designed to work in harmony with the others, ensuring that the system transfers forces efficiently. Their RUVOLUM® dimensioning software is used to optimize the interactions within the system.
Tecco mesh provides exceptional corrosion protection which will last for generations, for more demanding environments the product is available in stainless steel.
The high-tensile steel wire's outstanding strength-to-weight ratio makes transport and installation easier. Unstable slopes are given long-term stability with minimal visual impact.
There are a number of options for the mesh to be supplied in:
• TECCO® G45/2 with a smaller opening size and 2 mm wire diameter is unobtrusive and stabilises slopes which are composed of very fine loose soils. All parameters are harmonised to the P25/P33 spike plate and the other components of TECCO® product range. Tensile Strength of mesh – 85kN/m2
• TECCO® G65/3 with a larger opening size and 3 mm wire diameter and is used for stabilising slopes with medium sized rocks. All parameters are harmonised to the P33/P66 spike plate and the other components of TECCO® product range. Tensile Strength of mesh – 150kN/m
• TECCO® G65/4 with a larger opening size and 4 mm wire diameter and is used for stabilising slopes with medium to large blocks. All parameters are harmonised to the P33/P66 spike plate and the other components of TECCO® product range. Tensile Strength of mesh – 250kN/m
Geobrugg supply a design & installation manual which sets out the key considerations for the correct application of the system and options required for a success project. Vertical Access have further developed the installation manual following years of installation experience which further improves safety, efficiency and rate of installation.
The company has installed TECCO mesh on a number of contracts including Kyle of Lochalsh in 2001 for Ritchies and which is still featured in the Geobrugg history section.
