On the 22nd March we held our annual company Safety Day!
Hosted by members of our management team, it is an opportunity to highlight and discuss important topics we often don’t get to talk about as a collective. It not only increases company morale, but benefits towards the overall development of Vertical Access. Safety Day invites discussion between management personnel & company technicians, with the contribution of presentations and open exhibitions from external industry experts, to discuss important topics within the Rope Access Industry.
We heard presentations from our own Project Manager Ian Heginbotham, on Rope Access Safety. Topics included the health and safety hazards of working at height, and how our management, supervisors and multi-leveled Rope Access Technicians can avoid them.
Additional presentations also included one on On-Site Safety, led by Chris Guest. This included interactive group workshops about how we can improve as a company both on-site and in the office. This was a fantastic way of everyone communicating their concerns and areas of improvement, which will drastically increase company efficiency going forward.
We were also lucky to have Matthew Breakell (a representative from law firm DAC Beachcroft) to deliver a presentation on staff mental health. This allowed the opportunity for an open conversation between colleagues and management personnel about mental health awareness and perception, and how to handle work-place stress.
We also heard presentations and exhibitions from companies such as:
We’d like to thank our key Industry Partners who came and delivered these presentations, open RPE displays and PPE advice. They are a valued element of our business model, and we are always grateful for their partnership in making VA the best we can be.
Finally, a big commendation to Ian Heginbotham & the rest of the office team who helped organise the whole day and made it a huge success.
Another big thank you to all of our technicians who attended and contributed.
Well done VA!
